Personal Hygiene and Dressing
As we age simple tasks of daily living sometimes become challenging. Our caregivers are able to tend to the needs of your loved one which ultimately gives a lending hand to family and their loved ones. Our caregivers assist with a variety of hands on personal care services, and are experienced in bathing/showers/sponge baths, toileting and incontinence care, shaving, oral care, dentures and dressing. Our caregivers go above and beyond, and provide services tailored to each client depending on individual needs.
Skin Integrity
Proper positioning and repositioning allows for better circulation. Our caregivers are trained to position and examine areas of the body that are less visual. Maintaining proper skin integrity such as feet and buttocks, help to prevent skin breakdown and promotes good health.
Assistance with Ambulation/Transfers
During the initial assessment our Nurse Case Manager will provide a home safety check. It is during this time that a client’s home is evaluated for grab bars, ramps and apparatus for example, that may be needed specifically for the client to maintain safety in the home. In addition, the nurse case manager will supervise the client ambulating within the home to ensure that all devices used such as walkers and canes are used safely. Proper body mechanics for the client and caregiver reduce falls, energy exerted and creates safety in the home. Safety in the home is a priority for us at Quality Homecare Cape Cod.
Nutrition and Hydration
Our caregivers are diligent in helping our clients choose, prep and/or cook healthy meals, as well as encourage hydration. Often seniors are dehydrated due to not drinking enough fluids during the day. Our caregivers monitor and encourage hydration and proper nutrition.
